The workshop "Building Critical Thinking Classroom" with Mathew X. Joseph expanded my understanding of how I can develop students' critical thinking skills through deliberate practices. It allowed me to see the necessity of incorporating activities sparking critical thinking in every lesson.
The session facilitator used the flow of the session to model many of the techniques and strategies that we could employ with our students and peers. I was introduced to several new tools and ideas, but the most important part of the session for me was having the opportunity to engage with a wider teacher community and learn from one another.
The workshops have benefitted the teachers immensely. They have given them the confidence to teach online, while at the same time equipping them with new teaching tools. Getting glowing feedback from parents is sufficient proof that the workshops have hit their mark.
